Ingredients
Scale
- 3¾ cups all-purpose flour
- 1½ tsp baking soda
- 2 cups buttermilk (or milk with 2 tbsp lemon juice)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, stir together the flour and baking soda. Gradually add the buttermilk until the dough becomes shaggy, being careful not to overmix.
- Lightly flour a clean surface, then gently fold the dough 4-5 times to form a rough ball and shape it into a round loaf.
- Line the air fryer basket with parchment paper, then place the dough inside.
- Air fry at 350°F (175°C) for about 25–30 minutes until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped. Let it rest for 15 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Serve warm with butter or spreads. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in the air fryer at 300°F (150°C).
