Description

A quick and elegant Beef and Broccoli Stir-Fry featuring tender beef and vibrant broccoli in a savory sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 2 cups fresh broccoli florets, washed and trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 3 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch, mixed with 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Prepare the ingredients, slicing the beef thinly and cutting the broccoli into bite-sized florets.
  2. In a bowl, marinate the beef with half of the soy sauce and cornstarch mixture for about 10 minutes.
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  4. Add the marinated beef in a single layer, cooking for 2-3 minutes without stirring, then turn and cook until browned. Remove and set aside.
  5. Sauté minced garlic and grated ginger in the same skillet until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  6. Add broccoli florets and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp.
  7. Return the beef to the skillet, pour in the prepared sauce, and stir well. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens.
  8. Finish by drizzling sesame oil over the stir-fry and incorporating.
