- 8–10 garlic cloves
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Pinch of salt
- ½ cup butter, melted (113g)
- 1 large egg
- ¼ cup milk (60g)
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- 12 King’s Hawaiian Original Hawaiian Sheet Rolls (or a similar-sized French baguette)
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- Chopped parsley and chili flakes for serving
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roast the garlic by placing the garlic cloves on aluminum foil, drizzling with olive oil, sprinkling with salt, wrapping tightly, and roasting for 30-35 minutes until soft.
- Allow garlic to cool slightly, then squeeze out into a bowl.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the roasted garlic, melted butter, egg, milk, salt, paprika, and chopped parsley. Whisk until smooth and creamy.
- Keep the Hawaiian rolls in a full sheet form and pour the garlic butter custard evenly over the rolls.
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese generously over the top of the rolls, covering it fully.
- Place the assembled bread on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- Let it cool slightly before serving, garnished with extra parsley and chili flakes.
Notes
For stronger garlic flavor, add more roasted garlic. Use fresh herbs for added aroma. For a crunchy top, broil for the last 2-3 minutes of baking.
