Description

A warm, cheesy, and aromatic treat packed with the flavors of roasted garlic and melted cheese, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 810 garlic cloves
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Pinch of salt
  • ½ cup butter, melted (113g)
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup milk (60g)
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 12 King’s Hawaiian Original Hawaiian Sheet Rolls (or a similar-sized French baguette)
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Chopped parsley and chili flakes for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roast the garlic by placing the garlic cloves on aluminum foil, drizzling with olive oil, sprinkling with salt, wrapping tightly, and roasting for 30-35 minutes until soft.
  3. Allow garlic to cool slightly, then squeeze out into a bowl.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine the roasted garlic, melted butter, egg, milk, salt, paprika, and chopped parsley. Whisk until smooth and creamy.
  5. Keep the Hawaiian rolls in a full sheet form and pour the garlic butter custard evenly over the rolls.
  6. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese generously over the top of the rolls, covering it fully.
  7. Place the assembled bread on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  8. Let it cool slightly before serving, garnished with extra parsley and chili flakes.

Notes

For stronger garlic flavor, add more roasted garlic. Use fresh herbs for added aroma. For a crunchy top, broil for the last 2-3 minutes of baking.
