Description

A delightful combination of brownies and cookies, offering the perfect balance of fudgy and chewy textures.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup (40g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup (65g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup (100g) brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 and 1/4 cups (160g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (175g) chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract and whisk until fully combined.
  4. Sift in cocoa powder, all-purpose flour, salt, and baking powder. Stir until just combined.
  5. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan, spreading it out evenly.
  6. In another bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  7. Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix until combined.
  8. Gradually add flour, baking soda, and salt, mixing until dough comes together. Fold in chocolate chips.
  9. Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough over the brownie batter and gently spread to create an even layer.
  10. Bake for 30-35 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs and the cookie layer is golden brown.
  11. Let the brookies cool in the pan for at least 15 minutes before slicing.

Notes

For a twist, try adding nuts, caramel, or peanut butter to customize your brookies.
