- 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup (100g) brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 and 1/4 cups (160g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (175g) chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract and whisk until fully combined.
- Sift in cocoa powder, all-purpose flour, salt, and baking powder. Stir until just combined.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan, spreading it out evenly.
- In another bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix until combined.
- Gradually add flour, baking soda, and salt, mixing until dough comes together. Fold in chocolate chips.
- Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough over the brownie batter and gently spread to create an even layer.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs and the cookie layer is golden brown.
- Let the brookies cool in the pan for at least 15 minutes before slicing.
