Description

A decadent pie featuring rich burnt honey, silky texture, and a hint of caramel flavor that’s perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pie crust (store-bought or homemade)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, mix together the granulated sugar, softened butter, and honey. Stir occasionally until the mixture becomes a deep amber color, about 5 to 10 minutes.
  3. Once the mixture is dark and aromatic, remove it from the heat and allow it to cool for a few minutes.
  4. In a large bowl, whisk the room temperature eggs until they’re well beaten. Slowly add the cooled honey mixture, whisking continuously to prevent the eggs from cooking.
  5. Stir in the heavy cream, vanilla extract, and salt until fully combined and creamy.
  6. Carefully pour the filling into the prepared pie crust, ensuring it’s evenly distributed.
  7. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes until the edges are set but the center is slightly jiggly.
  8. Allow the pie to cool at room temperature for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

Serve chilled or at room temperature with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. Store leftovers covered in the fridge for up to 4 days or freeze for up to a month.
