Description

A delicious and comforting dish combining smoked sausage, creamy cheese, and tender potatoes, seasoned to perfection.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound smoked sausage (halal-certified, no pork)
  • 4 cups baby potatoes, halved or quartered
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix (ensure it’s halal-certified)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or a mix of your favorite cheeses)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream (optional, for serving)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Wash the baby potatoes and cut them into halves or quarters.
  3. Cut the smoked sausage into 1/4-inch thick rounds.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together the ranch seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
  5. In a large bowl, combine the halved potatoes with olive oil and half of the ranch seasoning mix.
  6. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or grease it.
  7. Place the seasoned potatoes on the baking sheet in a single layer.
  8. Scatter the sliced smoked sausage evenly over the potatoes.
  9. Bake for 35-40 minutes, stirring halfway through, until the potatoes are golden brown and fork-tender.
  10. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top and bake for an additional 5 minutes, until melted.
  11. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve hot with sour cream if desired.

Notes

For a twist, try adding veggies like bell peppers or onions for extra flavor. You can also substitute different types of cheese or use chicken sausage for a lighter option.
