A warm and comforting pie of spiced apple wedges baked in a single crust, perfect for quick desserts or family gatherings.

- 3–4 medium apples, peeled, cored, and cut into wedges (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work well)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (fresh is best)
- 1 store-bought or homemade pie crust (fits a standard pie dish)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Peel, core, and slice the apples into even wedges.
- In a large bowl, mix the granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
- Add the apple wedges to the bowl and toss until coated with the spice-sugar mix.
- Fit the pie crust into a pie dish and press it gently into the sides.
- Pile the coated apple wedges into the crust, arranging them snugly.
- Dot the top of the apples with small pieces of butter.
- Bake on the middle rack for 30–35 minutes until the apples are tender and the crust is golden brown.
- Let the pie sit for a few minutes before serving warm.
Notes
Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Can be stored at room temperature for up to 2 hours, refrigerated for up to 3 days, or frozen for up to 1 month.
