- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat the softened butter with both the granulated sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then beat in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually stir the dry mixture into the wet mixture using a spatula.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Use a tablespoon to scoop balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden brown but centers are still soft.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
Notes
For extra chocolatey cookies, mix in chocolate chunks alongside chocolate chips. Ensure butter is softened but not melted for the best texture.
