  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg, whisked

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • Fresh herbs (dill and parsley), finely chopped
  • Freshly chopped parsley (for garnish)
  • Freshly cracked black pepper (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, milk, egg, salt, pepper, and allspice. Mix gently until just incorporated.
  2. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Cook meatballs until golden brown on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same pot, add remaining beef broth, heavy cream, soy sauce, and Dijon mustard. Bring to a simmer.
  4. Return the meatballs to the pot, add chopped herbs, and simmer for an additional 10-15 minutes.
  5. Adjust seasoning with additional salt or pepper before serving.

Notes

For a festive flair, consider adding roasted root vegetables such as carrots or parsnips. Serve with crusty bread or homemade dumplings.
