Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup fresh breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 large egg, whisked
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
- 4 cups beef broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- Fresh herbs (dill and parsley), finely chopped

- Freshly cracked black pepper (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, milk, egg, salt, pepper, and allspice. Mix gently until just incorporated.
- In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Cook meatballs until golden brown on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pot, add remaining beef broth, heavy cream, soy sauce, and Dijon mustard. Bring to a simmer.
- Return the meatballs to the pot, add chopped herbs, and simmer for an additional 10-15 minutes.
- Adjust seasoning with additional salt or pepper before serving.
Notes
For a festive flair, consider adding roasted root vegetables such as carrots or parsnips. Serve with crusty bread or homemade dumplings.
