Ingredients

  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (divided into parts)
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar (for topping)
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon (to mix with sugar)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8×8-inch baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the egg, honey, and vanilla extract, whisking until blended.
  4. Gently stir in flour, salt, and ½ teaspoon cinnamon until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  6. Mix the granulated sugar and remaining cinnamon in a small bowl and sprinkle over the batter.
  7. Bake for 22–25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow to cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
