Description

Tender shredded beef served on toasted rolls with gooey provolone cheese, all dipped in warm au jus for a satisfying meal.


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds beef chuck roast
  • 1 packet au jus mix
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 6 toasted rolls
  • 6 slices of provolone cheese

Instructions

  1. Place the beef chuck roast into the slow cooker.
  2. Sprinkle the au jus mix evenly over the roast.
  3. Add the sliced onion and minced garlic around the meat.
  4. Pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce.
  5. Sprinkle with dried rosemary, dried thyme, salt, and pepper, stirring slightly to combine.
  6. Cover and cook on low for about 480 minutes (8 hours).
  7. Shred the beef with two forks.
  8. Mix the shredded beef back into the slow cooker with the juices.
  9. Serve on toasted rolls with slices of provolone cheese melted on top.
  10. Offer warm au jus on the side for dipping.

Notes

For extra flavor, add fresh herbs or customize with different cheeses. Gluten-free options available with suitable rolls and mixes.
