Instructions
- Gather and measure all ingredients for efficiency.
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef or turkey over medium heat for 5–7 minutes, then drain excess fat.
- In the slow cooker, layer the browned meat, black beans, corn, and taco seasoning; stir gently to combine.
- Pour the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and salsa over the base mixture, ensuring even distribution.
- Cover and set the slow cooker to low for 4–6 hours or high for 2–3 hours to enrich flavors.
- About 30 minutes before serving, sprinkle the shredded cheese on top, cover, and allow it to melt.
