Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole milk or milk alternative (cold)
  • 2 tablespoons instant coffee (fine-ground)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons hot water
  • Ice cubes (as needed)
  • Optional: pinch of cocoa or cinnamon, grated dark chocolate, or coffee beans (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the glass and milk. Fill a tall glass two-thirds with ice, then pour in 1 cup of cold milk.
  2. Combine the whipped ingredients. In a medium bowl, add 2 tablespoons instant coffee, 2 tablespoons sugar, and 2 tablespoons hot water.
  3. Whip to glossy peaks. Using a whisk or electric mixer, whisk vigorously until you achieve glossy, satin peaks. This takes about 3-5 minutes by hand or 1-2 minutes with a mixer.
  4. Spoon a generous dollop of the whipped coffee over the chilled milk.
  5. Garnish the top with cocoa, dark chocolate, or cinnamon before serving.

Notes

For best texture, store whipped coffee and milk components separately. Revive whipped coffee by whisking briefly if necessary.
