Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 cup caramel sauce
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually mix this into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in the chopped pecans and chocolate chips.
- Spread half of the batter into the prepared dish. Drizzle half of the caramel sauce over it.
- Spoon the rest of the batter over the caramel, spreading it evenly. Drizzle the remaining caramel sauce on top.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Let the bars cool in the pan for at least 15 minutes before cutting into squares.
Notes
For extra flavor, toast the pecans before adding them to the batter. These bars pair wonderfully with ice cream or whipped cream.
