Description
A comforting yet fancy meal of juicy steak, creamy mashed potatoes, and tender asparagus, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 steaks (your choice of cut)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil
- 4 medium-sized potatoes, peeled and quartered
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 1 bunch of asparagus, trimmed
- Garlic (optional for flavor)
Instructions
- Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add the quartered potatoes and cook until tender (15-20 minutes). Drain and mash while hot. Mix in butter, salt, and pepper.
- Season steaks with salt and pepper. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat, drizzle olive oil, and cook steaks for 4-6 minutes on each side for preferred doneness. Let rest.
- Sauté trimmed asparagus in the same skillet for about 5 minutes until tender. Optionally add minced garlic in the last minute.
- Serve the steak with mashed potatoes and sautéed asparagus. Enjoy!
Notes
For a tastier steak, let it rest longer after cooking. You can swap asparagus for other vegetables or add cheese to mashed potatoes.
