Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 steaks (your choice of cut)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil
  • 4 medium-sized potatoes, peeled and quartered
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 bunch of asparagus, trimmed
  • Garlic (optional for flavor)

Instructions

  1. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add the quartered potatoes and cook until tender (15-20 minutes). Drain and mash while hot. Mix in butter, salt, and pepper.
  2. Season steaks with salt and pepper. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat, drizzle olive oil, and cook steaks for 4-6 minutes on each side for preferred doneness. Let rest.
  3. Sauté trimmed asparagus in the same skillet for about 5 minutes until tender. Optionally add minced garlic in the last minute.
  4. Serve the steak with mashed potatoes and sautéed asparagus. Enjoy!
