Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until pale and fluffy, about 3–5 minutes.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the sifted flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, folding gently.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- For the glaze, whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Drizzle over the cooled cake and allow it to set before serving.
