Description
Garlic Knots are soft, fluffy bites brushed with buttery garlic-parsley topping. Perfect as a side or appetizer, these golden knots are a true comfort food you’ll want to make again and again.
Ingredients
1 1/2 cups warm water (not too hot)
1 packet active dry yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
1 tablespoon sugar
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
Salt to taste
Instructions
1. In a bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Stir and let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
2. In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Add yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until soft dough forms.
3. Knead dough on a floured surface for 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
4. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour until doubled in size.
5. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
6. Punch down the dough, divide into equal pieces, roll into ropes, and tie into knots.
7. Place knots on a parchment-lined baking sheet with space between them.
8. Mix melted butter, minced garlic, and parsley. Brush over each knot.
9. Sprinkle with salt.
10. Bake for 15–18 minutes until golden brown.
11. Serve warm.
Notes
You can add Parmesan cheese on top before baking for extra flavor.
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days or freeze for longer storage.
Dough can be made a day in advance and refrigerated for more developed flavor.
