Ingredients

- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt until well combined.
- In another bowl, cream the softened butter and brown sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the molasses, egg, and vanilla extract until fully blended.
- Gradually stir in the dry ingredients until just combined.
- Roll the dough into small balls, then roll in powdered sugar.
- Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between each.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges feel set.
- Let cool on the tray for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
