Description
Indulge in the exquisite harmony of flavors found in honey lemon pepper chicken thighs, featuring a zesty glaze that enhances the succulent richness of chicken.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs (pat dry for crisp skin)
- Salt and black pepper (freshly ground, to taste)
- 1/4 cup honey (preferably organic)
- Zest and juice of 1 large lemon (freshly squeezed)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (room temperature)
- 1 teaspoon black pepper (coarsely cracked)
- Fresh parsley (finely chopped, for garnish)
- Lemon slices (for presentation)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Season the chicken thighs generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.
- In an ovenproof skillet, heat a tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the chicken thighs skin-side down. Sear until golden brown, approximately 5–7 minutes.
- While the chicken sears, combine honey, lemon zest, lemon juice, butter, and black pepper in a small bowl and mix until smooth.
- Once the chicken skin is golden, carefully flip the thighs and pour the honey lemon mixture over the chicken.
- Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 25–30 minutes until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
- For extra crispiness, broil the chicken for an additional 2–3 minutes.
- Remove from oven and let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped parsley and lemon slices.
Notes
Consider marinating the chicken thighs in the honey lemon mixture for a few hours or overnight for a deeper flavor. Pair with seasonal vegetables or couscous.
