Description
A sophisticated dish combining juicy chicken with creamy feta sauce and a spicy honey drizzle, perfect for both weeknight dinners and special occasions.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (pound to even thickness)
- Salt and black pepper (to taste)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (extra virgin for richer flavor)
- 1 cup crumbled feta cheese (preferably at room temperature)
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt (plain, for creaminess)
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice (freshly squeezed for brightness)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder (or 2 cloves fresh, minced)
- 1/4 cup hot honey (or regular honey with a pinch of cayenne)
- Fresh herbs, such as parsley or dill (finely chopped, for garnish)
Instructions
- Season the chicken breasts generously with salt and black pepper. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Once the oil is shimmering, add the chicken breasts. Sear them for about 6-7 minutes per side, until they develop a golden-brown crust and are fully cooked.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the crumbled feta, Greek yogurt, lemon juice, and garlic powder until smooth and creamy.
- Return the chicken breasts to the skillet and generously spoon the feta sauce over them. Allow the mixture to warm through for a couple of minutes on low heat.
- Remove from heat and drizzle the hot honey over the chicken. Let it rest for a moment to absorb the flavors.
- Sprinkle with freshly chopped herbs before serving.
Notes
Pound the chicken for even cooking. You can substitute feta with herbed goat cheese for a creamier variant.
