- 1 pound Ground Beef (80/20)
- 4 cups Frozen Hash Browns
- 2 cups Cheddar Cheese (shredded)
- 1 can (10.5 ounces) Cream of Mushroom Soup
- 1 cup Sour Cream
- 1 medium Onion (finely chopped)
- 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
- 2 tablespoons Butter
- Salt and Pepper (to taste)
- 1 teaspoon Paprika
- 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
- Optional: 1 cup Bell Peppers (diced)
- Optional: 1 cup Green Beans or Peas (cooked)
- Optional: ¼ cup Jalapeños (diced)
- Optional: ½ cup Bacon (cooked and crumbled)
- Optional: Chives or Parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned (6-8 minutes). Drain excess fat.
- Melt butter in the same skillet. Add onions and sauté for 4-5 minutes. Add garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, and 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese. Add the frozen hash browns and mix well.
- Stir in the beef mixture and season with salt, pepper, and paprika. Mix until everything is combined.
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. Pour the mixture into the dish and spread it evenly.
- Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese over the top.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown and bubbly. Let cool for 5-10 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
