  • 4 cups Frozen Hash Browns
  • 2 cups Cheddar Cheese (shredded)
  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) Cream of Mushroom Soup
  • 1 cup Sour Cream
  • 1 medium Onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • Salt and Pepper (to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • Optional: 1 cup Bell Peppers (diced)
  • Optional: 1 cup Green Beans or Peas (cooked)
  • Optional: ¼ cup Jalapeños (diced)
  • Optional: ½ cup Bacon (cooked and crumbled)
  • Optional: Chives or Parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned (6-8 minutes). Drain excess fat.
  3. Melt butter in the same skillet. Add onions and sauté for 4-5 minutes. Add garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, and 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese. Add the frozen hash browns and mix well.
  5. Stir in the beef mixture and season with salt, pepper, and paprika. Mix until everything is combined.
  6. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. Pour the mixture into the dish and spread it evenly.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese over the top.
  8. Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown and bubbly. Let cool for 5-10 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
