Description
A delightful blend of savory, sweet, and spicy elements, this Korean Ground Beef Bowl elevates weeknight meals into a refined experience.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef (preferably grass-fed)
- 2 cups cooked jasmine rice
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce (low-sodium if desired)
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar (packed)
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger (grated)
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust for spice preference)
- 2 green onions (thinly sliced)
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (toasted)
- Fresh cilantro (finely chopped, for garnish)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground beef, cooking until browned and crumbled, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Pour the prepared sauce over the cooked beef and stir well. Let simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- In bowls, place a scoop of warm jasmine rice and top it with the savory ground beef and sauce.
- Garnish with sliced green onions, toasted sesame seeds, and fresh cilantro.
Notes
For an elegant presentation, artfully arrange the rice and beef in wide-rimmed bowls. Adding a drizzle of sesame oil enhances flavor.
