Description

Lemon brownies are a refreshing twist on traditional brownies, featuring a bright citrus flavor and chewy texture.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest (from about 1 lemon)
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • Additional lemon juice (for mixing with the powdered sugar)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, melt the butter.
  3. Add the granulated sugar into the melted butter and mix until well combined.
  4. Crack in the eggs, add the lemon zest, lemon juice, and vanilla extract, and stir until smooth and creamy.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring just until combined.
  7. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth out the top.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
  9. Let the brownies cool completely before drizzling a glaze made with powdered sugar and lemon juice on top.
