Description

A flavor-packed low-carb casserole that combines the classic tastes of a Philly cheesesteak, perfect for busy weeknights or cozy gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground beef (80/20 fat ratio preferred)
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 2 large bell peppers (green, red, or mixed), diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 8 oz provolone cheese, sliced
  • 1.5 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×13 baking dish with non-stick spray.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Sauté the onions and bell peppers for about 5-6 minutes until softened.
  4. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds, stirring continuously.
  5. Incorporate the ground beef, seasoning with salt and pepper, and cook for 7-8 minutes until browned.
  6. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce and blend in the softened cream cheese until melted and creamy.
  7. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  8. Layer torn pieces of provolone over the beef and top with shredded mozzarella.
  9. Bake for 22-25 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly. Allow to rest for 5 minutes before serving.
