Description
A rich, cozy bowl of pillowy gnocchi in a melt-in-your-mouth cream sauce, perfect for a quick and delicious meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound gnocchi (store-bought or homemade)
- 2 tablespoons butter (softened)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream (room temperature)
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese (freshly grated is best)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped parsley for garnish (or substitute basil)
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the gnocchi according to package instructions; drain.
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat and add the minced garlic; sauté for about 1 minute. Don’t let the garlic burn or it will turn bitter.
- Pour in the heavy cream and bring it to a gentle simmer; reduce the heat and stir in the Parmesan until the sauce is smooth and creamy. Stir constantly so the cheese melts evenly and the sauce stays silky.
- Add the cooked gnocchi to the sauce and toss to coat; season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley for a fresh, golden finish.
Notes
Use freshly grated Parmesan for the creamiest, most flavorful sauce. Don’t boil the gnocchi too long; they should be fluffy, not mushy.
