- 1 sheet store-bought puff pastry, thawed (about 8 x 10 inches)
- 1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash; room temperature)
- 1/2 cup Nutella or high-quality chocolate-hazelnut spread (slightly warmed)
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar (optional, for a light sparkle)
- Flaked sea salt, a small pinch (optional, to taste)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll the thawed puff pastry on a lightly dusted surface and spread the warmed Nutella in a thin layer, leaving a 1/4-inch border.
- Cut the pastry into 10–12 even strips (about 1 inch wide).
- Twist each strip at both ends gently and place it on the prepared sheet with seam side down.
- Brush each twist with the beaten egg and sprinkle with sugar and flaked sea salt if desired.
- Bake for 12–16 minutes until puffed and golden brown, rotating the pan once.
- Cool for 5 minutes on a wire rack before serving.
Notes
Serve warm for the best texture. Can be stored at room temperature for up to 24 hours or frozen for up to 1 month.
