Description

Elegant and effortless Nutella Puff Pastry Twists that elevate a simple chocolate-hazelnut spread into a refined dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet store-bought puff pastry, thawed (about 8 x 10 inches)
  • 1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash; room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup Nutella or high-quality chocolate-hazelnut spread (slightly warmed)
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar (optional, for a light sparkle)
  • Flaked sea salt, a small pinch (optional, to taste)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll the thawed puff pastry on a lightly dusted surface and spread the warmed Nutella in a thin layer, leaving a 1/4-inch border.
  3. Cut the pastry into 10–12 even strips (about 1 inch wide).
  4. Twist each strip at both ends gently and place it on the prepared sheet with seam side down.
  5. Brush each twist with the beaten egg and sprinkle with sugar and flaked sea salt if desired.
  6. Bake for 12–16 minutes until puffed and golden brown, rotating the pan once.
  7. Cool for 5 minutes on a wire rack before serving.

Notes

Serve warm for the best texture. Can be stored at room temperature for up to 24 hours or frozen for up to 1 month.
