Description

A delicious and easy breakfast casserole made with flaky croissants soaked in a creamy egg mixture, perfect for gatherings and brunch.


Ingredients

  • 6 large croissants, torn into bite-sized pieces
  • 8 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (choose your favorite)
  • 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled sausage or ham (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions

Instructions

  1. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cream, salt, pepper, vanilla, and cinnamon until well combined.
  3. Place the torn croissant pieces evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  4. Add a layer of shredded cheese, followed by optional sausage or ham, and green onions.
  5. Pour the egg mixture over the croissant layers and gently press to soak.
  6. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
  7. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Remove cover and bake for 40-45 minutes until set and golden brown.
  8. Let cool for a few minutes before serving warm with desired toppings.
