Description
A delightful fusion of flavors marrying the richness of a patty melt with the comforting essence of pizza, featuring savory beef, caramelized onions, and gooey cheese.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pre-made pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup of homemade or high-quality store-bought burger sauce (room temperature)
- 1 pound of ground beef (preferably 80/20 for optimal flavor)
- 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced (caramelized)
- 2 cups of shredded Swiss cheese (freshly grated for best meltability)
- Fresh parsley (finely chopped, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
- Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface to about 12 inches in diameter.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef with Worcestershire sauce until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Add sliced onions to the same skillet and cook over low heat until caramelized, about 10-15 minutes.
- Spread burger sauce on the rolled-out dough. Evenly distribute ground beef, caramelized onions, and Swiss cheese.
- Bake on a preheated pizza stone or baking sheet for 12-15 minutes until crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
- Sprinkle with fresh parsley and allow to cool slightly before slicing.
Notes
Use a cast-iron skillet for caramelizing onions; it adds depth to their sweetness. Consider using artisanal cheeses for an upscale twist, and allow the pizza to rest a few minutes after baking for cleaner slices.
