Description
A unique twist combining the classic flavors of a patty melt with the beloved ease of pizza.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pre-made pizza dough (room temperature)
- 2 tablespoons room temperature butter
- ½ cup thousand island dressing
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 pound ground beef (85% lean)
- 1 large onion (thinly sliced)
- 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
- Fresh parsley (finely chopped, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C).
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat. Season with salt and pepper, cooking until no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add sliced onions to the skillet, cooking on medium-low heat until golden brown and caramelized, about 15 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix the thousand island dressing with Worcestershire sauce.
- Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface into your desired shape and thickness.
- Place the rolled dough onto a baking sheet or pizza stone, brushing the edges with room temperature butter.
- Spread the prepared sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border for the crust.
- Layer the cooked beef and caramelized onions over the sauce, followed by a generous layer of Swiss cheese.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbling and the crust is golden brown.
- Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
Serve with additional thousand island dressing on the side and a simple arugula salad dressed with lemon for a refreshing touch.
