Description

A unique twist combining the classic flavors of a patty melt with the beloved ease of pizza.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pre-made pizza dough (room temperature)
  • 2 tablespoons room temperature butter
  • ½ cup thousand island dressing
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 pound ground beef (85% lean)
  • 1 large onion (thinly sliced)
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
  • Fresh parsley (finely chopped, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat. Season with salt and pepper, cooking until no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add sliced onions to the skillet, cooking on medium-low heat until golden brown and caramelized, about 15 minutes.
  4. In a bowl, mix the thousand island dressing with Worcestershire sauce.
  5. Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface into your desired shape and thickness.
  6. Place the rolled dough onto a baking sheet or pizza stone, brushing the edges with room temperature butter.
  7. Spread the prepared sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border for the crust.
  8. Layer the cooked beef and caramelized onions over the sauce, followed by a generous layer of Swiss cheese.
  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbling and the crust is golden brown.
  10. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Serve with additional thousand island dressing on the side and a simple arugula salad dressed with lemon for a refreshing touch.
