Instructions

  1. Prepare your pan: line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment, leaving an overhang for easy lifting. Lightly butter the parchment.
  2. Brown the butter: in a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter, swirling continuously until browned.
  3. Melt marshmallows and peanut butter: return the saucepan to low heat, add the marshmallows and browned butter, stirring until glossy. Stir in peanut butter and vanilla.
  4. Combine with cereal: pour puffed rice into a large bowl and quickly fold in the marshmallow mixture until evenly coated.
  5. Press into pan: gently press the mixture into the prepared pan, aiming for an even thickness. Drizzle with melted chocolate and sprinkle with flaky sea salt.
  6. Chill and cut: allow the tray to cool, refrigerate to set, then cut into rectangles.
