Description
A cool, pink breeze cocktail featuring tart grapefruit juice, a hint of floral rose, and sparkling rosé for a refreshing finish.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3/4 cup (180 ml) freshly squeezed pink grapefruit juice (from 2–3 grapefruits)
- 1 teaspoon finely grated grapefruit zest
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice (about 1/2 lemon)
- 2 teaspoons rose syrup (or 1/4 teaspoon rose water + 1 teaspoon simple syrup)
- 10–5 oz (approx. 150–180 ml) chilled sparkling rosé or brut rosé per serving
- Pink grapefruit segments or a thin grapefruit wheel (for garnish)
- Fresh mint sprig (for garnish)
- Edible rose petal (optional garnish)
- Coarse sugar for rimming glass (optional)
Instructions
- Chill glasses and wine by placing flutes or coupe glasses in the freezer for 10–15 minutes.
- Prepare the citrus by zesting one grapefruit and squeezing until you have 3/4 cup strained juice.
- Make or measure sweetener; combine equal parts sugar and water for simple syrup.
- Build the base by mixing grapefruit juice, lemon juice, grapefruit zest, and rose syrup in a mixing glass.
- Strain the mixture into chilled glasses using a fine mesh to remove pulp.
- Top with sparkling rosé by pouring slowly to preserve bubbles.
- Add a thin grapefruit wheel, mint sprig, and a single edible rose petal for garnish.
Notes
Serve in chilled flutes for best effervescence. Prepare the base up to 24 hours ahead and store refrigerated. Avoid storing finished cocktails with sparkling wine as bubbles will dissipate.
