- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup caramel chips
- ½ cup chocolate chips (optional)
- ½ tsp flaky sea salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Cream the softened butter with granulated and brown sugars until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture until just combined.
- Gently fold in the caramel and chocolate chips.
- Scoop balls of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Sprinkle flaky sea salt on top of each cookie.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
- Let cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Chill the dough for 30 minutes to prevent spreading. You can substitute caramel chips with butterscotch or mix in nuts for extra crunch.
