Description
Indulge in these gourmet shredded beef sandwiches featuring tender, slow-cooked beef enveloped in crusty rolls, enhanced with rich spices and fresh herbs.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 lbs chuck roast, trimmed
- 1 tablespoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 cup beef broth (low sodium)
- ¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 4–6 crusty rolls, halved
- Fresh herbs (parsley or cilantro), finely chopped
- Sliced pickles or jalapeños for garnish
Instructions
- Season the chuck roast with kosher salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika.
- Sear the beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat until caramelized, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Deglaze the skillet with beef broth, scraping browned bits, then add Worcestershire sauce and apple cider vinegar.
- Transfer beef to a slow cooker and pour the sauce over. Cook on low for 6-8 hours until fork-tender.
- Shred the beef and mix it back into the sauce.
- Lightly toast the crusty rolls until golden brown.
- Assemble sandwiches with shredded beef, chopped herbs, and pickles or jalapeños.
Notes
Allow the beef to rest before shredding for better juiciness. Use quality beef for enhanced flavor.
