Description
A comforting slow cooker dish combining tender ground beef, flavorful vegetables, and creamy mashed potatoes for a hearty meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 12 ounces frozen vegetables (your choice)
- 10.5 ounces cream of mushroom soup
- 1 packet French onion soup mix
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 48 ounces prepared mashed potatoes
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef and chopped onion for about 6-8 minutes until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Transfer the meat mixture to a slow cooker. Add the frozen vegetables, cream of mushroom soup, French onion soup mix, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir until well mixed.
- Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours or high for 3 hours.
- After cooking, spoon the prepared mashed potatoes over the mixture and spread evenly. Sprinkle cheddar cheese on top.
- Cover and cook on low for another 15 minutes until the cheese is melted. Optionally, place under the broiler for about 5 minutes for a golden top.
Notes
Serve hot, and leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for 2 months. For a lighter version, use lean ground turkey instead of beef.
