Description

A comforting slow cooker dish combining tender ground beef, flavorful vegetables, and creamy mashed potatoes for a hearty meal.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 12 ounces frozen vegetables (your choice)
  • 10.5 ounces cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 packet French onion soup mix
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 48 ounces prepared mashed potatoes
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef and chopped onion for about 6-8 minutes until browned. Drain excess fat.
  2. Transfer the meat mixture to a slow cooker. Add the frozen vegetables, cream of mushroom soup, French onion soup mix, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir until well mixed.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours or high for 3 hours.
  4. After cooking, spoon the prepared mashed potatoes over the mixture and spread evenly. Sprinkle cheddar cheese on top.
  5. Cover and cook on low for another 15 minutes until the cheese is melted. Optionally, place under the broiler for about 5 minutes for a golden top.

Notes

Serve hot, and leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for 2 months. For a lighter version, use lean ground turkey instead of beef.
