Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Honey buttercream frosting (for topping)
  • Honey (for drizzling)
  • Flaky sea salt (for sprinkling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg and milk until well combined.
  4. Whisk together the cornmeal, flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in another bowl.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10–12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  8. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  9. Spread honey buttercream frosting on top, drizzle with honey, and sprinkle with flaky sea salt before serving.
