Description

Cheesy and savory Sloppy Joe sliders, perfect for game day or family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 15 oz can of tomato sauce
  • 1/3 cup ketchup
  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp brown sugar (or to taste)
  • 1 Tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • ½ tsp fine sea salt (or to taste)
  • Black pepper (to taste)
  • 1 cup freshly grated marble cheese
  • 9 slider buns

Instructions

  1. Make the Sauce: In a medium bowl, whisk together the tomato sauce, ketchup, soy sauce, and brown sugar. Set aside for later.
  2. Cook the Beef: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the butter and minced garlic, sautéing until fragrant (30 to 60 seconds). Add the ground beef and cook for about 5 minutes, breaking it up until it’s no longer pink. Drain excess fat.
  3. Season the Mixture: Sprinkle in salt and pepper to taste. Mix well to combine flavors.
  4. Simmer the Sauce: Add the prepared sauce to the beef mixture in the skillet. Stir and bring to a light boil. Lower heat and let simmer uncovered for 10 to 15 minutes until it thickens to your desired consistency.
  5. Add the Cheese: Stir in the grated marble cheese until melted and creamy.
  6. Assemble the Sliders: Toast slider buns until golden brown. Spoon the hot Sloppy Joe mixture onto the bottom halves and top with the bun lids.
  7. Optional: Brush garlic butter on tops of the buns before warming in the oven.

Notes

Adjust sweetness with brown sugar. For a healthier option, use ground turkey or chicken. Add veggies for extra nutrients.
