Description

Crispy chicken wings coated in a tangy-sweet sauce made with pineapple and spicy cowboy candy, perfect for game day or gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds chicken wings
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup crushed pineapple, drained
  • 1/2 cup cowboy candy (candied jalapeños)
  • 1/4 cup cowboy candy syrup
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken: Start by patting the chicken wings completely dry with paper towels.
  2. Season the Wings: In a large bowl, season the wings with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Drizzle the olive oil over them, then toss to coat evenly.
  3. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  4. Set up Your Baking Sheet: Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy clean-up. Place a wire rack on top and arrange the chicken wings in a single layer.
  5. Bake the Wings: Bake the wings for 45 minutes, flipping them halfway through.
  6. Make the Sauce: While the wings are baking, combine the drained crushed pineapple, cowboy candy, and syrup in a saucepan. Add honey, soy sauce, and minced ginger, and simmer on low heat for about 5 minutes.
  7. Coat the Wings: Once the wings are done, brush the sauce over them or toss the wings in a bowl with the sauce until well-coated.
  8. Serve: Serve the wings immediately while they’re hot.

Notes

For extra crispiness, consider broiling the wings for the last 2-3 minutes. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
