Description

Steak and Shrimp Lo Mein brings the flavors of takeout home with tender steak, juicy shrimp, and colorful veggies tossed with lo mein noodles in a savory sauce.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz lo mein noodles
  • 1/2 lb steak, sliced
  • 1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 cups mixed vegetables (bell peppers, carrots, broccoli)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 green onions, chopped for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the lo mein noodles according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  2. In a large pan or wok, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the steak slices and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add the shrimp and cook until they turn pink, roughly 2-3 minutes.
  5. Toss in the mixed vegetables and garlic, sautéing until the vegetables are tender, about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Combine the cooked noodles with the meat and vegetables in the pan.
  7. Stir in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil, mixing well.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Garnish with green onions before serving.

Notes

Slice the steak against the grain for tenderness. Don’t overcook the shrimp to prevent rubberiness.
